Hagen Schumacher is a fully trained plastic surgeon, who has been working in the industry since 2002. Following his medical studies and research undertaken in the University of Hamburg / Germany in 1997, Hagen Schumacher decided to undertake his surgical training in the UK.
His basic surgical training was in the Merseyside region which led to award of Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002. In 2011 he finished his higher surgical training in plastic surgery in the Cambridge region when he became Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery in 2012. He also passed the specialty exams of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of which he is also a Fellow. He entered the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery in 2012.
Mr Schumacher gained further training in Head and Neck Surgery / Facial Palsy, Reanimation / Reconstructive Breast Surgery and microsurgery in St Andrew’s Hospital in Broomfield and the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. He has undertaken medical research leading to award of a PhD. His research portfolio includes 6 chapters for the award winning eLPRAS online textbook, more than 20 publications in peer reviewed medical journals and over 15 national and international presentation. He has done 19 medical peer reviews.
