Dr Jim Brown is a Consultant Respiratory Physician and Sleep Specialist with over 30 years’ experience practising medicine across five continents. He trained in London, including a period of research at University College London focused on novel optical diagnostics in respiratory disease, with a secondment to the Diamond synchrotron particle accelerator facility in Oxford. Findings from this work were widely reported in the international press.
As part of his medical training, Dr Brown completed a BSc in Exercise Physiology and went on to study Lifestyle Medicine, reflecting his long-standing interest in the relationship between physiology, behaviour, and long-term health.
He has trained across all aspects of respiratory medicine and undertook additional sub-specialty training in lung cancer and sleep medicine, qualifying in sleep medicine at University College London Hospitals and the London Chest Hospital. His current practice focuses on sleep optimisation, respiratory disease, and lifestyle-related health conditions.
Dr Brown has a strong interest in medical innovation and has established international research collaborations, developed training courses within the UK, and founded Lungs for Living, a charity supporting respiratory research.
