Mr Mark Solomos completed his basic surgical training in the NHS, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Intercollegiate Board and the Royal College of Surgeons. He was successful in the written and oral exams that granted him his membership in the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. This allowed him to proceed with his Higher Speciality Training in the field of Plastic Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery, which took place in leading Teaching Hospitals in the UK. The training was extensive in all aspects of Plastic Surgery including cosmetic/aesthetic surgery, breast, hand, burns, trauma and tumour surgery and microsurgery. He was successful in the Plastic Surgery oral and written Speciality exams in Athens (Greece) in accordance with the European and British Directives (Articles 24, 25, 26 and 28 Directive 93/16 EEC) and was granted the Title of Medical Speciality in Plastic Surgery.
He is a member of the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery, which certifies that he meets the requirements set by the General Medical Council and the Royal College of Surgeons and is qualified to perform Cosmetic and Reconstructive procedures as a Consultant Surgeon. He then left the NHS to have further training in Cosmetic Surgery in one of the leading Private Hospitals in London. At the same time, he was awarded the Fellowship of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, following rigorous exams that can be taken only by qualified Plastic Surgeons and demonstrate the high quality of his theoretical and practical skills.
Mr Solomos is specialising in aesthetic surgery and particular areas of interest include facial rejuvenation procedures, breast and body contouring surgery. He has performed numerous operations covering the whole spectrum of cosmetic surgery. He also has great experience with the use of non-surgical rejuvenation treatments (injectables – lasers) and he is Medical Director of the Laser care/Skin clinic in Maida Vale and member of the Medical Advisory Committee in Plastic Surgery for Skin. Throughout his career, he has been invited as a speaker and has presented in numerous international medical conventions and has published his work in medical journals in the field of Plastic Surgery. He has also featured on radio and television as an expert on various subjects on Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.
