With a multilingual background, Monica Fawzy was educated in a French Lycée then sent to
Boarding School at Roedean, in Brighton. Initially interested in pursuing a career in art, a
family member’s illness led her to follow her parents’ footsteps into Medicine, qualifying as a
doctor in 2002.
She taught Anatomy at the University of Oxford and Guys Hospital and trained in several
surgical specialities before becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in
2006. She undertook further specialist training in Plastic Surgery in the East of England,
cementing this with a year-long fellowship in Craniofacial and Aesthetic Surgery in Paris,
followed by another fellowship in Microsurgery in Cambridge. She furthered her experience
with visits to various centres in Europe and the USA, both before and after completing her
formal training in 2015 when she joined the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery.
She has an NHS reconstructive practice with a subspecialist interest in head and neck microsurgical reconstruction and facial palsy in one of the busiest units in the UK. She has held positions of leadership with regard to patient safety and governance, as well as education- as deputy program director and educational director of the post-graduate training scheme for plastic surgeons in the East of England, and as an author of a textbook that helps trainee plastic surgeons to successfully prepare for the final plastic surgery FRCS(Plast) exam, one of the final hurdles before becoming a consultant.

She is passionate about extending these training opportunities to surgeons in less fortunate
areas of the world and has served with several surgical charities to this end. In addition, she
is a member of the leadership team of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and
Aesthetic surgeons (BAPRAS), and a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic
Surgeons (BAAPS) and an international member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons
(ASPS).
Her private practice is focused on facial and breast aesthetic surgery, as well as facial palsy reanimation. With regard to facial aesthetic surgery, she offers face and neck lifts, eye surgery, facial fat grafting and lip lifts. With regard to breast aesthetic surgery, she offers breast reduction and uplifts, with a particular interest in implant-free breast augmentation using fat transfer. Her approach is to listen to your concerns and find out more about you, including your medical, personal, and work circumstances. She will then decide with you if surgery is indeed the best solution at that point in time. This process will take at least two consultations, if not more.
She will only offer you surgery if she is certain that you are a suitable candidate for this- both
from a physical and psychological point of view, and that you are fully informed of the
benefits and risks. If so, she will offer a tailored surgical plan that aims to be as minimally
invasive as possible – aiming to produce as natural a result as possible.
